This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Nothing awful, actually we had a good day, or rather the kids did :-0
For fall clothes, they're still on summer break so my husband can watch two while I take the third out to get school clothes. That can be a pleasant experience.
But now because of our work/school schedules I had to take ALL THREE at the same time.
OMG!!!! Four hours of three little kids, all talking at once in the car, all wanting me to look at their clothes as they picked them out and tried them on. "Look at this, Mom-Mom!" "Look at this!" And this one's taking her time trying on her clothes, and the eldest, bless her heart, can do it all herself. Then back to the racks to get a smaller size or a larger one...
Then all three wanting this or that for lunch, and it took them forever to eat. All talking to me at once. Getting mustard all over everything, arguing over who got what first, you know the drill Then a stop at the ice cream stand. And it took them FOREVER to finish their ice cream cones and by then all I wanted was a NAP!!!! Then back home listening to "he TOUCHED me!!!" "She's LEANING on me!"
I know I shouldn't be complaining. They love me. They want to be with me and talk to me. But four hours of nonstop yak-yak-yak and "pay attention to MEEEEE" and I'm ready to crawl into a cave and stay there for a year.
So now I'm broke, but they're happy. I guess that counts for something, huh?

My gc's were doing laps around the clothing racks today, and then my gd fell, and wailed it out so loud people ran to her side. She was fine, but she likes to be loud.
On the up side.... MEMORIES, that no one else will ever have :)
Today the weather's nice, so they're all out in the woods or somewhere. BLESSED peace and quiet! (Although I know we should all be in church. Just can't get it together today :-)

The middle one, though, is really an "artiste" personality -- except when it comes to putting an outfit together. She's so flaky. She'll wear just about anything I lay out for her. But let her put something on? Jeeze she looks like an urchin from some fairy tale! HAHAHA!
