Maybe I watch too many cop shows, but is there any chance the caller is your current caseworker? Seems odd that it happened the day after she visited you.

When speaking to the CW she came right out and said it wasn't her. she is on board with the adoption, in fact, she told me she was only needing GS birth cert. and for me to have our attorney contact her, so she could send the information to him so he could start the adoption process. That was at her last visit which was just the day before all this started. I'm so fed up with this!

I have been seeing too many instances where the suspicion is that the grandparent is being set up by CPS. This has occurred in various states. Some even threatened with removal of the kids if they don't cooperate. Many I have talked to are too scared to speak out to anyone for fear the children w/be removed and placed with strangers. However, that call will carry weight in court and as Sara says, be careful. In our battle we learned quickly to follow exactly what judge said and became very careful with what we said. I lived with my heart in my throat for over a year. When all was said and done, we moved to another county far away from bio parent and his crazy wife. We considered out of state but our bio children are here and we did not want to leave whole family and they filled in with our gs. Also, there is a interstate commerce division for child care and they regulate children being moved to another state. I helped one gm from ds and it brought out some real nasties in the CPS and DCFS factions. Can you challenge this complaint? Do you have people who can testify this did not occur? If you do, have lawyer take statements and notarize so if it comes up in court, you will have proof. Finally, this is hard to say and please do not take offense, but don't be nice to dd. I know she is your child and you love her, but for now, the cw can use her against you and your gc. So, again, be very careful of you trust.

Gees...My heart goes out to you and your family. I am surprised that I hasn't happen to us, yet! My first SW was dead set that we were helping my son and I was far from doing that. My son knows me too well that I wouldn't break any rules. Then, when it came out that the old SW didn't do the referral paperwork for special therapy for my GS I know he got ticked off that I complained to the baby's attorney and he was forced to do it. Then, with our new SW she was also forced to get paperwork that she wasn't doing by the non profit attorneys.

Some of these SW's egos are so large and they project things that aren't happening so they feel they are justified.

I pray this goes away, fast...and your adoption goes as planned.

I guess my next question is this: Who would be so angry with you that they would go to the bother of calling the hotline? Of course I don't know the old caseworker, but would she be that vindictive? Is there ANY chance that your daughter's social worker could have done it? As you said, it was someone who knows social work and the case information.

To me, unless the old caseworker is deranged, it would have to be someone with an immediate need to prevent the adoption. That would put the "suspect" closer to home. But of course I could be wrong...

Thanks for your input. Lets see if I can answer some of the questions. The kids have not seen their bio mother since Xmas. They do not even talk to her on the phone as the paper states NO Contact. I have gone over to my daughters home while the kids are in daycare and school to pick items up that are needed Most resent, weather changed and I picked up some summer clothes. She had a toothache and I brought her some ambisol and tea bags. Our house is small, we are waiting for the tax money so we can enclose the carport into a bedroom for oldest and my office, which is taking up one of the bedrooms. When the kids came back I took a lot of their stuff over to my daughters to use her place as storage until the construction is done and each has their own room. Yes I send her pictures of the kids and when we talk of her she is Mommy and I am gramma or mama. But a lot of times the 2year old calls me mommy, mama or gramma. I really don't care what I'm called, as long as they are communication with me.

The old CW as many know from past post.. nuts!!!! She is so head strong ego, that I'm sure it was her. The Foster home the kids were in was a friend of hers. The paper work she sent to the new Caseworker after the TPR stated non family adoption. She wrote personal notes all over the court papers, so my new CW has had to go pull the paperswhich has delayed the adoption process. It's my new CW that told me this! My new CW told me it was against policy to write on court Documents.The new CW wasn't even aware there was a call that came in. My CW told me policy is if a call came in from the hotline it would go to her due to being the caseworker.
My daughter doesn't have a CW since she is TPR she is no longer on the case.
We have been active with the kids everyweekend. We have taken them camping in the desert, fourwheeling in the Jeep, bowling, fairs, parks and birthday parties, shopping for clothes and school supplies. But my god some weekends you just have to stay home and veg! Yes, I have people who can come forward but it's not like we spend the weekend with them except for when we went camping as a group! There are times we just pack up and go as a family which is what we are trying to become!

I feel like I need to have someone with me 24/7 just to prove I am doing no wrong..Why the hell do we have to live like this!

Do you know if the fosters were interested in adopting? If so, then it does make sense that the former caseworker is the caller.

I can't even imagine what you're going through!!!! I hope your lawyer can put the fear of God into somebody and get this moving forward!

Oh my gosh! I can't believe it! It does sound like maybe it's your old caseworker or maybe even the foster? Dear god, you have been through hell. I'm gonna pray that the adoption goes through ASAP and then you all should get the hell away leaving NO forwarding address!

Sara, the whole time we were in court, the foster parents name was always coming up on how good they were for the kids and how they wanted to adopt them...Remember in court the time frame wasn't given to us to present how the kids didn't gain wieght, black mold given to Zach in sippy cups, and lets not forget the reddish purple behind he had and when I tried to show the supervisor, she didn't want to see it, but the parent aide saw it and documented it just to name a few wrongs the Foster parents did to my kids. We got the kids due to the law cause the judge ran out of time to hear our side! Remember I got a tongue lashing from the Judge because I allowed Oldest GD to go to visits with Daughter after CPS old CW gave permission. Then when my daughter came up possitive in a court order drug test, Old CPS CW called the hotline on me for neglect, because I allowed GD to drive with Daughter to visit. It was after that the parent aide told me the CW should have never given permission, because they knew Daughter wasn't drug testing. These are things we wanted to bring out, but was told we had no time on the court calander. Who else could it be????

It does sound like your current CW is on your side, so prayerfully this will soon pass. I agree that it sounds like the former CW or former foster family. If it's the CW, I hope they figure it out and FIRE her. Those calls are recorded. Can't your CW listen to the call?? As far as that part goes, they should also have caller ID on those calls & if that's the case, should be able to prove it if it's the former foster parent making false accusations, and if that's the case, that foster parent should have her license revoked.

Update. I saw my CW yesterday for the last time. She said, she didn't have to come out next month because the kids adoption will be final. I told her if she is in the area, she can drop by it was nice talking with her. I asked her about the bogus investigation. My CW said, she and the investigator has e-mailed each other and that the investigator isn't going to pursue the claim. My CW made the comment, she doesn't understand why someone would do something like that...I told her she can look at my case file and it would give her a clearer picture. Ladies this told me I was correct and I did call the old CW out! I hope she gets fired, she already lost her CW status due to her ego on this case... She can only type what is said at team decision meeting!

Now that this is coming to an end, I'm feeling the weight lifting off of me.
