We signed our Adoption Placement Paperwork on the 7th. I had to take off some time from work due to gathering medical and making sure the adoption paperwork is proofed.
I have/will have several more specialist to take my gs to and "fingers crossed" the adoption will be over in a copy of months. My brother-in-law gave us money to remodel our home to integrate my gs's bathroom and flooring that is softer if he falls. That was a wonderful blessing for us however; my husband and I are doing the work ourselves. We did 3 straight days putting in flooring and gutting my gs's bathroom so we can finish remodeling it by next Sunday. We are 57 and even thou we keep up with gs we have been hurting for 4 days from remodeling!
My son the bio father has been MIA...I keep waiting for him to hit bottom; he is 35 yrs old. His depression really has a hold on him. I text him last week telling him I saved his son from foster care system and he owes it to his son to get back to a good life. Then, I never heard form him since?? I try not to think about him and his problems...it is more of praying that he is in a safe place.
I have to say I have enjoyed my time off during the day with my gs now that I'm not stressing about doing it all while I work a full time job. He still has 2 days of therapy per week and also daycare while I get things done for the adoption. When I go back to work I will get some moody stuff from the lady I work with because she has to do part of my job duties. I will be still behind, again...

I'm so happy for you about the adoption you will know that your gs is safe with you. Sorry to hear about your son, is he addicted to drugs, i am also hoping that my daughter will hit rock bottom, i my opinion she already has several times, but shes only 21 and she is bipolar. Its a happy thing to finally adopt your gs but i'm sure also a sad time that its come to this, you probably hoped your son would get it together and be able to raise his son. Mixed blessing, but the very best thing for your gs. Its a good thing your off for a couple weeks, try to get some rest when you can.

You are really moving along. Remodeling a be is a big job! It is nice to be away from job, at least for awhile, isn't it? Prayer is probably all you can do for son now, though I know it is difficult and you can't help but worry. Be strong. Prayers are with you.

I'm happy to hear about the adoption. Have you told your gs and is he old enough to understand what it means? We have been discussing it for some time at our house but haven't started the process--as it is likely to be contested and therefore expensive. My gd is very excited about the prospect, as we are too. Remodeling too--you are very busy! We always seem to have something "under construction at our house" and it is only a few years old. It can be stressful and a blessing at the same time. Stress seems to be a common thread among us--myself included. I will remember your family in my prayers.
