Grandparents Raising Children Support Group
This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. I went online and filled out this application for this program called KidsNcare which my daycare provider is working with. I ran across an online application and filled it out. Yesterday when I got home there was a message from them. I called the worker after we got back from court and she told me that he is eligible for Childcare because he was removed by CPS. She also told me that they don't go by our income.
She said that all she needed was a referral letter from the SW with his letterhead and someone will contact me after that. I immediately emailed our SW and told him what was needed on his end.
Wow...if we do get childcare funds it would help us so much. We have been using our emergency funds to pay for childcare for over 6mths. This will help with the financial stress that we are experiencing. Plus, since I have used up all of my sick and Vacation days early on with GS's appts and SW visits I can now take time off when I need to go to my Dr which I have put on the back burner because of the money lost when I don't get paid when I take off.
So, today was a good day...

The TANF is 201. a month and it helps to supply him with diapers clothes and wipes. He also received Medical Assistance thru the state. His Dr and meds are all free. As long as I am working or going to school they will pay for his daycare 100%. I can't beleive the your SW didn't tell you that. CPS told me that the day they came out to visit me. As long as you have paperwork from the courts that you have guardianship/custody there shouldn't be any question.

We just paid it back...I am not sure if we would have fought if it would have changed. I work full time and sometime I just get tired of fighting and my husband doesn't like to get anything from the welfare system.
Now, I just hope the SW writes up the Referral and faxes it off to this organization soon. I requested the referral paperwork for having our GS accessed last Sept. and he still hasn't done it.
