How old is your GD?
Sounds like your doing everything you can. I'm sure it's hard for her to understand. School age must be more of a challange. I have my 4 yr old GS who's been in our home since birth. I can see confusion already. Starting school does worry me but we'll shower him with love & do our best. Mom is still around but it's not always in his best interest.
God bless you & your husband. Have to believe God helps us through these times.
According to the lawyer at probate the number of grandparents raising grandchildren is growing & not as uncommon as some believe.
What a mess.
Hugs
Sammy
She's 6. When she began school and saw all the other moms and dads it was hard for her. I told her some kids don't have moms or dads in their lives, because they aren't well, but they have living grandmas and papas. I suggested her Christian school start including gp's uncles aunts in their MD and FD programs. Our ill children, don't know the pain they cause their babies. Yes, and God does help, because when my daughter took a downward spiral, it was the worst pain I've ever felt and heartbreak. I prayed and still do for her complete healing and freedom from whatever has a stronghold on her life. Good luck to you on this journey. Hugs back.
Legally, document e erything. Every attempted call. The few completed calls. The very few visits. If she e er tries to get custody back, this is invaluable.
Best of luck to us all.
