Once again it's hooooliday time! YAY! Time to deal with bios who want their holiday glory fix.
My husband's daughter "Jay" (the one who gave the kids scabies twice in the past six months) wants to visit us for Christmas. She has already told the kids she will "sit home all alone and cry all day" if she can't come to our house.
We do Christmas Eve. My daughter-in-law (my stepson's wife) does Christmas afternoon.
I can see my husband is weakening. He's starting with the "well, maybe for the day," now it's "maybe sleeping over Christmas Eve," etc.
First of all, I don't ever want to see "Jay" again, but I suppose I could deal with her presence for the kids' sake. I told my husband she will have to sleep in the kid's room that's easiest to clean, spray, and disinfect. I am NOT going through a third scabies treatment.
Second, my daughter-in-law (wife of my stepson) has said she absolutely will not have "Jay" at her home on Christmas Day.
Can any of you see a way to handle this? Our family doesn't fight, so there's no history to help me decide. If I put my foot down too hard I'll end up arguing with my husband. And I can't even begin to imagine how he'll react when he finds out our daughter-in-law won't have "Jay" in her house.

Plan to do something with her before Christmas maybe Christmas Eve take her to dinner somewhere and dont put yourselves through scabies again. As far as the DIL not allowing her over let that be between them. you have no control over that.
Of course she denies that she gave the kids scabies the second time (in late July). But the only people who got the scabies were the only people who shared a bed with her. Nobody else got them.
She seemed shocked that I didn't believe her, but as they say, when an addict is moving their lips, they're lying.
