This week we are sadden with what drugs can do. My husband has a brother with two stepchildren. Monday one of them ran off to another state thinking that the state we live in was going to take her baby when it was born. Well she had her baby in the other state and the baby lived 15 minutes before passing. The mother,dad and baby tested positive for meth. The Mom is still in the hospital with possible blood clots to the legs. An autopsy was performed on the baby yesterday and she has a policeman outside her door at all times. The state will cremate the baby and send it to our state. My brother in law and his wife are already raising two of their grandchildren and cannot afford to take on another for health reasons. What in the heck were they thinking. The state they went to is more hard on this deal then our home state. My heart feels that thisis the best situation for the baby if it was this I'll already then there was slot of problems ahead. This Mom only had one doctor visit in mine months. Forgive my typing my tablet is going haywire.

So, so sad. There seems to be no end to the damage that drugs can do. Praying for all those involved.

so sorry to read your post snippy. The baby is in God's hands with no pain for what it's mother did. The police are waiting for mom to be discharged so they can arrest her for murder. I hope mom is ready to pay for her addiction.

Sounds like a story I either read o FB or heard on the news. Very sad, indeed. When she is forced to sober up & can no longer drug herself into blinding denial, the reality will probably hit her like a ton of bricks, & her life won't be easy behind bars with other women who miss their kids on the outside.

We will keep your family in prayer. It's sad but I think GMaWillie is right, facing this reality will be painful for this young mother.

She was able go sign herself out AMA and return to our state. I just hope this won't be the end of it when it is all said and done.

Just saw this post, Snippy. Of all the mistakes I made in life, one that I did NOT make was addiction to drugs or alcohol. Especially when pregnant, I wouldn't have done them! Yesterday on TV they were remembering "the Burger King baby" whose mother left her in the bathroom of the fast food joint, just hours old. The baby survived, was adopted, and believe it or not, wants to find her birth mother and say, "Thank you for caring about me." ??? She means at least her mother didn't kill her and leave her in a dumpster.

She w probably be charged w murder. If you know a pregnant mother is abusing drugs you should report her to cps or the police. She can beheld in hospital till baby is born to ensure she is not using during ppregnancy. At birth child w be placed in foster care. At least you can protect the child.
