In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. I've spent the last 8 years raising my granddaughter on and off. My daughter is an addict and I tried so hard to help her. She got clean twice. Each time she got her daughter back. This last time her lyes were so calculated I didn't see what happen coming. I confronted her one day and she jumped out of my car and I haven't seen her since it's been 8 months. I have my granddaughter and she is a love. All that's she's gone through and she is full of God's spirit. She is no trouble at all. I'm tiered thou. I home school her and work full time. So I have no time for myself. Because of this pandemic I don't see many people. So it gets. Lonely. I've lost friends because they are done raising kids. But with all this said I am hopeful for the future and I am so great full for all my blessings. Finding this forum to tell my story and vent a little I know will only help. Thank you for listening
Sounds similar to the trail of tears I was on with my 3 grandkids before a fatal car wreck took both Mom and Dad in a single blow. The children were 6 through 8 months on that fateful day. Corona crowned a few months after the funeral and? ? ?
What planet am I on? I have never felt so alone in all my 66 years.
How awful am I that I cannot decide which is worse: grieving the loss of my son or another 8 years of the CPS drama? I would have lost the DIL, anyway. She wanted a divorce. I've wondered if they were arguing that point when the wreck happened.
