I commend you on going out with your husband. It is so important that we go do things with our spouses or significant others to reassure them that they are still important to us through all of this. I am proud of you.
I know my husband and I went out this past Friday, . Not just to dinner and come right home, but bonafide get dressed up and go out to dinner with our other son, his wife, her parents and their friends. It was the first time in 2 years we have been able to do this. We then went dancing afterwards. Now, mind you, it wasn't easy leaving the house and it took us 20 mins of screaming and crying on the babies parts, the "wait momma, come bacccckkk" We told my gd and gs that we PROMISED that we would come back to them, but the tears in their eyes were enough to kill us. It broke my heart that their hearts were broken. We told her that we would wake her up when we got home to show her we came back.
We kept in touch with them via cell phone and my gd didn't want us to get off the phone. When we got home, a little before midnight, she was still awake and jumped in our arms.
The important thing is, that we as grands remember to take time for us and our spouses/S.O.
Have a great time with the hubs, that is something we need to do more of...taking time for ourselves.
