Greetings old friends & new, I address you with a very humble & grateful heart, giving God above all glory and praise for where my family is today. The Bible warns that pride cometh before a fall, so let me be very clear that it is by God's grace alone my kids have survived their heroin addictions & that I happily have them in my life today, clean from the bondage of heroin, & to the best of my knowledge, my grandchildrens' other parents are clean as well. I also have a beautiful 7 month old GD now whose smile & kisses are just irresistable. I want parents of drug addicts to understand there is hope. I dont take anything for granted & know relapsing is very possible, especially for heroin addicts, but I am grateful for significant amounts of clean time for my own 2 kids and at least 4 other young adults whose lives I feared for just over a year ago for some & for years at a time for some. Believe me when I say there were many low moments when I thought they would not make it or would not be a part of their childrens' lives. Seeing children missing their parents & crying pitifully for them rips a grandmas heart to shreds. I am so sorry for those of you who have lost adult children& are left to try to deal with the consequences. As I have said, I take nothing for granted & pray for God's continuing grace & mercy.
