DD - I do not qualify for anything from SS because I have to qualify on a single person level. GS does not count toward my household because he receives Kinship Care. I believe if I dropped the kinship care we'd both qualify for everything, but I'd lose that income and probably not be much better off, except I'd have healthcare.
I would definitely consider those child-friendly states! Thanks for that info!
Everyone else - I really appreciate your sharing and your prayers! There ARE a lot of others who have been here, and I know there will be a way for us to get through! God BLess!
GMaWilli - our court systems really stink. IMO, justice is almost never served. I do agree strongly that if someone brings suit against someone else, they should have to pay all expenses of both sides if they lose. That would cut down on this suit-happy bogged down legal system!!! But then they wouldn't make a much money, and neither would the lawyers..... I have a neighbor who has sued almost every neighbor here. It just stinks. There oughta be a law, IMO..... I'll bet if he had to pay every time he lost he's stop suing everyone!!!
