Have you considered talking to his supervisor about issues you're not happy with? I know, it's scary. I'm always afraid to make any waves whatsoever with a CW, although I've been pretty happy with the one I've had for the past year. I hate feeling like I have no control, though, when I'm the one raising this child day in and day out. You raise them, but someone else gets to make all of the decisions. It's not very balanced. There's always that underlying fear that if you P.O. the wrong person, someone might show up at your door to take your child from you.............and these children have been through 2 much already. I'm not sure I understand your question, btw. How far of a worker will you get???? Like how far away will the person working with you work?

Well, most likely he will give a biased opinion of your case to whomever would be assigned to you. Then again, maybe not everyone looks up to him or likes him??? I didn't know caseworkers were even unionized. That surprises me. I don't remember what you've posted concerning the problems you've had with him, so I'm not quite sure what I'd do.

Do you have a GAL? They can also request a new social worker. We did not request a new social worker but a new person to supervise visits between mom and kids at human services. Mom and the worker were spending all their time discussing her issues and complaining that kids behaved poorly in the visits...no kidding their mom abondoned them for an abusive creep who gave a two year old baby a black eye..they are angry!! Any way our GAL got involved but ultimatly we had to GO TO COURT and have a judge rule to get a new person..it was a headache.

When I put in a complaint about our caseworker and requested a different one, I was told they all had too many cases and that they could not be switched.

I have had a many issues with SW however; like I mentioned I focuse on what is needed at my end to ensure that my gs stays with us instead of foster care home.

This last issue has been daycare; he told me he would setup childcare when I went back to work last June. He had 6 wks to work on it and 3 days before I go back to work he called to say no childcare because we lived in a different county then him. Which I found out not true? He has access to Organizations who fund childcare for foster children.

I finally found an organization that will pay for foster child daycare and requested a short referral letter to organization, then faxed to them. He told me he faxed it a month ago. I called the organization last week they said they never received the faxed letter. Hes done this before with other things that were even more important.

I am still working with him because I feel that he may black ball me if I change I just make sure I doc things.

I spoke with two grandparent org's and they also told me that he isn't doing his job.

I just want this adoption thing to get over with...
