In our high school they have strict policies against those services, and have software that can detect if someone uses them. Automatic "F" and maybe even more discipline.

I have returned to college and they have specific programs on research and paraphrasing sponsored by the university. High s pool curriculum generally lag behind in technology. They feel kids need to learn by doing it themselves. Personally I think these kids are so savvy they should be allowed to use available tools. However school board rules. Look up school website and see if they offer a link to it. Schools usually have contracts with approved services. I would suggest you speak with granddaughter and encourage her to follow school rules and work with her to investigate the program. I would not go to teacher yet. If other kids are using it with parents approval, kids will label your granddaughter for you going to school. Kids can be cruel.

I didn't realize that lots of schools have approved programs that can be used. I'll make sure to look into it more.

I find myself pretty good and keeping up with technology stuff, but every once in a while something like this comes along that baffles me. I haven't had to write an essay for many many years so I had no idea that things like this existed.

The school my GDs go to uses email. I love it. Anything I need to know from the teacher I will get an answer the same day. Oldest gd learned fast not to lie to me about no homework. Quick email to the teacher and I know in the matter of minutes if she is telling the truth. Youngest forgets to bring homework home, I get is right away. The both had adjustment issues with a new school. The teaches let me know day to day how things were going. Like the oldest refusing to write in school.

I found the kids knowing I kept in touch with their teachers improved their study and homework time. They were so used to no one caring to find both the teacher and Grammy cared made them care too.

I looked at the website you posted and it sure looks like cheating. Buy an essay? That means your granddaughter is not improving her writing skills or her critical thinking. I don't care how many kids use this and get away with it -- it doesn't seem ethical at all. Definitely contact the teacher. Whenever I have a question about my grandson school work I e-mail his teacher and she responds right away.

I agree with ask school. My GD has a teacher that says "research does not mean Google." LOL! Yet technology is changing so quickly, it's hard to know what's "normal." My 17yo GD has a boyfriend in Australia that she Facetimes with! SO strange to me! I love it though since there is no touching involved! And he has an adorable accent. :)

I would check with the school. Even if the school okays it...Are the parents of the children using the service really thinking the children are learning?
