Fun with our babies

We went on our anual family trip to Dollywood today with the grandbabies and had a wonderfull time.We have been going for about 10 years nows every September[we have 9 b'days this month,my husband and son are 2 of them and this is like a gift to them all].The kids had a ball but were so tired they were both sound asleep before we got out of the parking lot.This was the first year that they were big enough to do anything there,the oldest one got to do more than the youngest but that was ok he didn't seem to mind at all he enjoyed watching all the people more than anything.
What was the last fun thing you did with your grandkids.Especially the ones you have custody/care of?I know for me that finding the time and money for fun is sometimes hard to do and it makes it that much more special when we do.

Funny you should ask today, mamaw! We enrolled the eldest and middle child in Girl Scouts/Brownies, and yesterday was their first field trip -- a hayride at a local farm to pick apples! Because my husband works on weekends, I had to take all three kids which did increase the expense, but it was worth it!

They had such a good time! There must have been about 20 kids, all set loose in the orchard to gather as many apples as they could fit in their bag. Then back to the farm market for apple donuts and cider.

I have about 32 Red and Golden Delicious apples to cook up in some way. I've already made German apple cake, so maybe today is applesauce day!

Every year we take a family trip with the System of Care site that I work with. We have a family state wide conference in different areas of the state. This year we went to the the Lake of the Ozarks. We are very luck we spent 3 days at the hotel and the cost was covered by the SOC but my nephew worked on the Tom Sawyer and we took a boat ride on the lake for a while and the Kids loved it. First time they had been on a boat. Since the cost is covered for everything it is something we can do. But we always make it special for the kids. Even just swimming in the hotel pool. They love it and they have all there friends from Circle of Hope with them. The kids have there own Confrence so we all get a chance to spend time away from each other and time togather.

Your post has great timing, my husband & I were just talking about this. He just enrolled our 13 yr old granddaughter in square dance lessons and he is going with her as her partner--she is thrilled. She doesn't live with us and even though we have 1 GC at home, we don't want to neglect our other grandkids. We are going to send in our membership for the Zoo this week--that will allow us to take all the grandkids (probably not at once, there are 12!) for the same price as taking 2 or 3 of them.

we take a family trip to Myrtle beach every year. This year I got the pleasure of having my live with gs and my older gd and a future gd all under 4-youngest turn 3 soon and oldest turned just turned 4. I also added my own grown children to the mix. I had a blast with the babies and the adults turned out to be forces to be reckoned with. we had fun gathering shells, playing in the sand and swimming in the pool. we also splurged and went to the aquarium and another fun animal spot.
