This Wed. I meet the new CW and have our first home visit. She seemed nice on the phone. She wrote us last week wanting us to come to the TDM on this Tuesday, but we can't with the school holiday starting and the old CW sent our case to her agency over an hour away. The new CW said, I can join the TDM via phone...Yeah this worker is working with us!
I have been trying to clean the house for the holidays and it seems like one step turns into three....I guess this gives me more motivation to overcome those extra steps knowing she is coming...LOL!
We got our tree up yesterday. We didn't want the glass ornaments up for safety reasons with GS and Puppy, so we were kind of in a spot. GD went with me and we picked out garland with colorful plastic ornaments and each child a box of candy canes. After the lights, garland and candy canes I really like the friendly version tree better!

I did the same thing for my granddaughter for the last few years (she's 5 now)--don't use breakable ornaments. We bought a bunch of stuffed penguins and Santas at the Dollar store and use those as tree ornaments, as well as other plastic and metal ornaments. When she's a little older, I'll go back to the glass ornaments. (It is also more fun b/c the kids can rearrange the ornaments with no risk of breaking anything.)

We have a new puppy in our house too. He's an almost 4 month old beagle. I only put about 6 candy canes on the tree, and they're up where he can't reach them. I've had to take more than one ornament out of his mouth already, though. I've got to keep my eye on him all the time. GS is 4, but doesn't bother the things on the tree, so I don't have to worry about him. He helps keep the ornaments away from the beagle.

Oh its aweful when they chew everything and expensive our dog used to do that to when she was a puppy, thank god shes 3 now. We got a puppy in March 2009 and our grandson moved in with us permanently in Sept. 2009. Thank god the dog was trained to do her business outside by then, but she was still chewing things, and chewed a lot of J.J.'s toys. :(

We have a cat that we call a lil' demon. She pushes the chandelier, jumps on everything, etc. Was I shocked when she and the other cats AND the puppy totally ignored the Christmas tree! I thought for sure they'd knock the whole thing over, but they never even messed with the lower-hanging balls.

Home visit went well, found out our new CW is good and professional. The old CW put on the records Adoption from non family member, and didn't give us any papers we were suppose to have filled out. Our new CW was very upset you could tell, but kept her comments to herself which was great to me. She will be coming back in a few weeks with the papers and she will also squash the weekly drug testing on my husband, (I think that is what put her over the edge).
