Finger Print Status

We gave our cards to the CPS licensing agency on April 24th. It takes eight weeks for return, We had to cancel the adoption of May 29th and its again set for July 17th. When we gave the cards to the agency, they said they would mail them out that day. I just called regarding the status on our finger print cards. I was told the cards were just received on May 8th and we might get them back in time for the July 17th adoption hearing. I sent an e-mail to my lawyer giving him status. Here's his reply: Wow. What a mess dealing with these people. I hope we get them in time.

Where's the love in that reply????? I see the C today, which is suppose to be the last time seeing her. Give me a break just once in this case!!!!!

Oh wow, how frustrating! Great support from lawyer and he will likely bill you for the 10 seconds it tookt o write it :). Let's hope they move their butts and you are all clear for July 17...better than hope sending requests skyward on your behalf.

That's why I hate government so much. They have NO conception of deadlines, efficiency, streamlining work, saving money or "customer care." GRRRRRRRR

Did they do your finger prints digitally? That time lapse is just ridiculous!! Hope you get them back in time for July!

CW acted upset and told me to call the agency, I asked her why, so I can get an apology...It won't change anything! Then the CW said once we get the finger print cards back we should hold them for a few days before turning them into the adoption agency... I told my CW I'm not holding anything, I want this done and I'm assuming she has all her paper work done and ready to go because I'm not going to wait for the Nov. national adoption day, so everyone who knows their job better have it done, because this is stupid!

The CW was over 30 minutes late coming here, I told her she couldn't have her full hour because I needed to get the kids to swim and art class and she was late. I said, this should be your last time coming here because of the adoption next month. she told me no, she would have to make one more trip due to the adoption being in mid July. This makes no sense, in April she said it was going to be her last visit, because the adoption was due at the end of May. I'm getting played here and I know I have to be their friend, but this is getting harder by the month! I don't want to have to ask if my GD can go to camp. I don't want to ask if we can take the kids on vacation out of state, I don't want to have to call someone to report an illness or injury....I want to start our LIVES

Hang in there nuts and bolts. There is light at the end of the tunnel!! I know exactly what you mean, though, about starting your lives and not having to answer to all of their rules and regulations. Will you be getting the adoption tax credits since your kids were in foster care? I know there are some people trying to get the bigger tax credit extended for 2012 & 13, but I don't know if it will get extended or not. I'm sure hoping it does, though.

I should be getting tha tax credit since we are adopting from the state. But I guess that is again up to our gov. Boy are we in trouble if healthcare goes over to them!
