This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Tonight I took my gd to her fall harvest at school and was surprised at the number of kids that were with the grandparents. I was worried that she might be embarrassed being with me but there was no need to be. She finally met her best friend in school and told me who she was and this child was with her grandmother and she talked to me and told me she was raising three grandchildren. Then while i was waiting on my gd to ride on the hayride I talked to another lady that said she was to old for this, she was raising three, a 9,12, and 17 yearold and was just now getting $150 a month from their dad for all three. I knew there were alot of people raising their grandkids but I was surprised to find so many in one spot. It was sad but made me feel better to know that I don't have to worry about embarrassing her the next time.
Today was really nice, and to think I wasn't really wanting to go as i thought it would be too much hassle and crowds. I got to meet some of gs friends , and he was so excited to introduce them.
