I found out a couple of weeks ago by the CPS worker that their attorney is going to motion for permanent custody of my Granddaughter (2yr old) to go to me and to remove the parent's (my daughter & the father) parental rights. This is suppose to take place in court next month. When he first told me my emotions were so mixed. I felt disappointed and happy at the same time. I felt depressed a couple of days and the next few days just trying to accept the idea. It's been two weeks and I have gone in a complete circle. Now that I have prayed about it and accepted it. I've started planning for her future. Redoing her room, making it more permanent. I guess i had in the back of my mind that one of her parent's would get it together enough to get her back. God knows best. She is by far better off with me. She is loved and gets all the attention that she needs. She is well adjusted and is comfortable with her routine. She knows that I will pick her up from Kindercare everyday. She knows that when we get home we wash hands and eat dinner. She knows she can watch her favorite show (Calliou) and she knows we get to spend some funtime together by singing and dancing or going in the back yard to slide. She knows after that is bath time and into pajamas. I think I am doing a good job in spite of how disappointed I feel sometimes. I was just expecting my freedom at this age (45). My baby boy is 20 years old and in his 3rd year of college.
