We will not be returning to that psychologist intern. I am planning to speak to her supervisor and suggest she obtain perpetrator training. On the phone she told me to have GD assessed for inpatient treatment. I don't trust anything she says.
I will ask the Detective for a referral and also the sexual abuse victim's advocate.
In the mean time, I am not letting her out of my sight. He anxiety and depression has been worse over the past month, now I know why.
How old is your granddaughter?
Sara, she is 17.
GD was informed of arrest by perpetrator's sister Saturday night. She fell apart. I cannot believe how much he has brainwashed her in such a short time!!!!
Aaargghhhhhh!!!!!
I pray you find a good psychologist and get her the help that she needs.
Yesterday I took GD to a new place on an urgent basis with a wonderful psychiatric nurse practitioner. She spent 90 minutes with us and was so great! She affirmed GD's diagnosis of PTSD and diagnosed panic disorder. She adjusted meds and ran blood work to rule out physical problems. So far some of her lab work is coming back abnormal, low iron, etc. We'll know more from medical doctor Friday.
That piece of garbage had first hearing yesterday. He was charged with two felony counts yet his bail was reduced from $750,000 to $150,000!!!!
He is a level 3 sex offender, released from prison after 11 years without supervision!!!! Now he has molested my precious child and who knows if there are others and he only has $150,000 bail!!!! No wonder our children are not safe!!!!
I am just so angry now!
Our eldest hated our first counselor, and so did I. But the second just clicked - and the cutting stopped, the depression went away and now she's soaring in life and school.
Our middle granddaughter's counselor was nice, but more into behavior modification than talk therapy. There was improvement, but nothing like with our eldest.
Deputy called me last night from jail. The monster has posted bail. GD overheard the phone call and appeared so excited. :( I explained DANCO order to her and also that I would not hesitate to hospitalize her for her own safety if she tries to see him.
Than I went in my room and broke down. I have been trying to protect this child since she was born and seem to fail at every turn.
Keep on keeping on. You've done a magnificent job with what you have been dealt.
