Hi everyone,
Well the law finally caught up with her and she's back in jail. I don't know when or if I will tell the girls. That is a bridge I'll cross later. Fortunately, she never saw them much so her absence won't be suspicious. She leaves behind a 2 year old that is living with the boyfriend/dad who is a drug dealer/addict, violent, criminal out on bond. I never had a relationship with the 2 yr. old for fear of loving her and wanting to take her when this day came. I have daughter's other 2 girls and my husband said he would leave if I ever took any more of her kids. Now I am also fighting cancer. The chemo/radiation is making me sick so taking on another child is not an option. I want to report the little girl's situation to children services. Should I stay out of it and concentrate on my fight with cancer and raising the other girls or should I report it? Family members are telling me to stay out of it, the court's already know the home enviroment. They say I need to get better and beat this cancer, not crusade for my other granddaughter that I don't really know. I am sick and tired and I don't need to fight stress along with the cancer. Yes doing nothing is easier but not necessarily the right answer or is it?

You DO need to focus on yourself right now; otherwise you won't be any good to anyone. Reporting the bio dad will at least ease your mind somewhat.

Please take care of yourself, do what you need to do to have peace of mind and then you have to take some time to get better.
I know you love your daughter and I am sorry that she is such a mess. It's a heartache that never ends.
Now, here is a new heartache, the baby. I think you should report it if you haven't already. I know you probably feel an obligation to take on this other one but you already have an obligation to the ones you are currently raising, not to mention an obligation to get well!!
