I was so stressed in the beginning when my gs was placed with me I knew I had to jump through hoops.
Don't forget to take care of yourself, your no good if you run yourself down with all of the Social Service stuff...they made a mistake your a great grandma.

I'm going through a similar situation currently, waiting for the motion, hearing trial, whatever. I'm fortunate to have a good rapport with the fosters and can see my GS at CPS 2 hrs every week although there is never a room available and we meet in the lobby or parking lot for now. I know how it feels to be lost in the cracks and afraid to say much. I may get flack because I called the director yesterday in desperation, but I don't know who to talk to except my attorney. It will probably result in me getting stomped by an even bigger elephant,. Oh well!!!
I brought the baby home from the hospital, and the two kids were with me for over a year. In Jan of this year, I had a heart condition which I asked the CW for assistance by putting the kids in Foster care until I knew what is happening or what I need to do to get better. When I was cleared from the Doctor in March, CPS refused the kids to come back to me. Supervisor told me I was a temporary placement. I hired an attorney and went to court in Mid April. But the AG for CPS forgot to send my attorney their motion to refuse me access into the case so we could fight for return of the kids. My court date was then bumped until my Attorney had time to submit his rebuttal and the Judge said, he will rule on allowing to intervene via mail. ( I'm on hold for this ruling)The day after court the Supervisor called me and removed my weekly visits and phone calls from /to the kids and placed me on a once a month supervised visit, which I get the first visit this month on the 27th.
My daughter should get her kids back and will. I wish I could go into detail with you as to why, but I can't talk about her. until after the hearing.
The play is daughter get's kids or I get kids, either way the goal is to get the kids back with family members who love them and out of the foster care system.
BTW: Grand-daughter lost her first tooth this past week. She told my daughter, Mom I put my tooth under my pillow every night, but the tooth fairy doesn't come, it's not working! Couldn't that foster mother take two minutes and place a quarter under her pillow before she goes to bed? Maybe it's not a Mexican custom, but if not, she should get to know the American customs.. I'm sure my GD has been telling her about the tooth fairy even since that tooth got lose. Tooth fairy has always been a big thing in our family for the kids, exspecialy the first tooth!..And I know the kids celebrated Cinco de mayo the Mexican way, per my GD story to my daughter about the pineta.
Did anyone say anything to the SW about this? I don't have the paperwork with me right now I'm at work but even if fosterparent spend all the funds on GD you can ask for special funds for things like that from agency they told us that. I know "a quarter"??
I pray you hear soon...

GMaWilli...Sad part about the tooth pillow is 6 weeks ago I gave my GD a tooth pillow cause the week before she show'd us the tooth was loose. My daughter is going to blame it on the tooth pillow and give her a dollar...LOL
It'll all work out, soon the kids will either be with me or their MOM...Where they are loved for who they are, not how much income they are producing.
