First off, Thank you for keeping my gc in your prayers. Today was something else. The caseworker gave my lawyer a piece of paper and by the way she was walking towards us and smiling you knew she was proud. Turned out to be my gs last doctor visit report. He is 19 months and weighs 25 pounds and is 33 inches long. My lawyer has children and said wow this doesn't sound right. I looked at it and told my lawyer Gs was 25 pounds back in Feb. I went to GS doctor after court. They printed out his well checks and growth chart from the time he was born. Sure enough gs was last seen by this doctor the day before they went into the foster home. Gs was 25 pounds 31 inches. So in the seven months he has been with foster care he has grown 2inches and has not gained any weight. We had a sub judge today so of course nothing was done.
CPS did get our pysch eval appt. Oct 5. We have trial on Oct3. CPS wanted to back our case to the last of Oct. This judge left it up to us since CPS dropped the ball. Both husband,I and the lawyer said no way. So CPS has to fight with the therapist to get us in and report done before the Oct 3 hearing.... To me that's good, I want to see how they like fighting for something they really want and be told no. The AG souded like they have been told no many times already this month..LOL

what the heck? What is the goal of CPS? Do they want the kids up for adoption or what? Do they think you are unfit for some reason? I think you said at one time that your daughter dropped a hot drug test, so is reunification out of the question? Is your daughter against you having the kids?

I don't get why this being so drawn out so long or why they are so combative with you...it seems fishy.

Now over a month of unstableness (i dont think that is a real word - but whatever - it fits) for the kids...jeez.

I often wanted to bill them myself for wasted court days, silly appointments etc. I wish I could bill my dd for getting us into this mess in the first place!

I think all government bureaucracies do whatever it takes to stay in business. After all, they don't have to make a profit or, in too many cases, even show that they're effective. If they were effective, their job load would shrink and their agency would have to lay people off.

Therefore, they keep doing "busy work" so it appears that they need even more money next time around.

But that's just my opinion, although it's based on experience in watching government projects up close and personal. Whatever it takes to get the funding is what they'll do.

I can not image how hard that must be on you and the kids. I think it would nearly kill me. I now know why I put up with all the crap my daughter give me she lives at home but has very little to do with her son. She threatens to take him away. But I know she can not look after him MY husband and I want to adopt him to keep him safe when she does leave. I will be thinking of you and wish you all the best and I hope it goes your way my baby is 22 months and if he didn't grow it would be real worry.

I think CPS does want my GC to be adopted, and I have a nagging feeling the FP and the caseworker our friends outside of agency. Proof I haven't looked for, nor feel it will matter. Based on everything I have a very strong case in getting the kids back. In early Aug. we were ready for the hearing and CPS decided they wanted this Pysch Test done. In good faith, we agreed to jump once more as a final step to show we are willing to work with them, even though they are showing they are working against us. We will take the test this month, but we will not take it next month, nor will we delay the hearing to late Oct. My daughter wants us to have the kids!

After all the BS we have gone through, I have learned that I have very little I can do to assist the kids, except to keep doing what we are. Every time we see them, we bring meals and snacks. I carry lotion and we three put lotion on.. This is a way I can look for any abnormal bruising without Parent Aide writing a report about it. God has been with them, I know he will keep them strong till we get them back.

I am so sorry to hear things are lagging on. As I mentioned previously, our gs lost 20% of his body weight during the year we fought to get him out of abusive home. On doctor visit immediately after he was placed in our custody, he was almost six and weighed 30# with clothes and shoes on. Doc said he was in the low 3% of growth chart. Yet DCFS saw no problem w/parents???? I wish I could be more encouraging but it looks like you (and your gc) w/have to be patient a little longer. As you say, things are in your favor to adopt and let's pray that is the end result and that it happens soon. The one thing I don't understand is: how come most gm's on this site report that their dd's on drugs, etc can ask the court and get their way....yet, you have your daughter's support as to where she wants children and they don't listen to her?????
