We had the final court hearing this week for the Order For Protection we helped our brave GD get against her mother. She was granted an emergency ex parte OFP in August after we spent an entire 8 hour day at the Domestic Abuse Help Center at our government center. A wonderful advocate helped our 16 year old GD through the process.

At the 2 week hearing bio showed up and refused to agree with the OFP so the final hearing was set for this week.

Bio did not show up. But we had the most wonderful Judge! She told my GD how brave and strong she was, how none of this was her fault but was the fault of the people who were paid to protect her!!!!! The Judge was very upset that CPS has known about our GD's abuse and neglect her entire life, yet returned GD to bio at 7 1/2 years and let her suffer 9 more years of abuse while receiving reports from me, neighbors and 3 different police departments! She gave our GD a 2 year OFP, which GD requested.

After we left the court room, my husband had tears in his eyes and said "Where was this wonderful Judge 9 years ago?" Shortly after returning home, GD fell asleep until I woke her for dinner. :( The poor thing was emotionally exhausted from testifying and so relieved!
