Grandparents Raising Children Support Group
This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Join the support group to find support, share your experience, and get advice from other members.
6Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
A few days before court, my dd emailed me and told me, not asked me, that she would probably need a ride to court because this is the week she wouldn't get paid so she wouldn't have gas money to get there. I had to LAUGH over that one. I emailed her back and told her there was no way we could go get her because we had to drop the kids (the 2 of hers we are raising) off to school by 8 then get to court by 8:30. The morning of court she phoned and said she needed directions so I handed hubby the phone. He asked her how she was getting there and she said "well I emailed mom and told her I might need a ride but she said you couldn't pick me up so I guess I have to drive myself." Really? Blaming me for not coming to get her? Does she so seriously NOT get it that she is almost 30 now and still has no license, still blaming everyone else for what SHE'S doing, still expecting everyone else to be at her beck and call, etc etc...
The bio mom showed up to court wearing scrubs AND bringing my 15 mo old gd with her. Oh yeah, she drove herself too. What's the significance of that statement? She doesn't have a license and never has, spent the prior weekend in jail for tickets for not having these, has no insurance AND tried to convince my husband that she got a SR-22 so she is legal to drive. LOL . You can't get auto insurance without a license in our State. LOL Boy she must really think we have S-T-U-P-I-D tattooed on our foreheads or something.
She was very uptight that she had to chase her around. Did she really expect me to take care of my gd while she just took a break? Oh wait. Yes she did as that is what we are doing now.
Oh, after court, I asked her if the child support was the only thing she was having an issue with and she said, "well yeah, I'm not going to have a job at the end of the month and don't know how they expect me to pay child support." Oh, gotta love my hubby... because he piped up and told her, "The state isn't going to care nor do they care if you have a job or not, nor what your excuse is for not having one. They will tell you to get a job flipping burgers to take care of your support situation. Oh and BTW, there will be no fighting about anything or else I will hire an attorney and fight everyone in court which will entail bringing everything out in court." She shut her mouth and didn't say another word. LOL
Any way, its been rescheduled for a few months down the road as it is the earliest they can get us back in there. When they told us this, I was thinking are there REALLY that many dead beats out there that aren't supporting their children or complaining they have to support their children? Ummm I got the insight of yes there are that many people out there like this.
Any way, I am relaxing more now because there is nothing else I can do about this right now other than to make the most of every day. Well ladies and gentlemen, this is my update for now.
God Bless
