Grandparents Raising Children Support Group
This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Join the support group to find support, share your experience, and get advice from other members.
I would imagine that if the bio gets immediate help after losing their kids and commits to their program IMMEDIATELY, they could straighten out and become good parents. But after years have gone by, the changes seem to be less and less.
My son and his GF are hoping to get their baby back June 2. This is her 5th that she does not have custody of but she is only asking for this one back. That says something about what kind of mother she is right there but any way. IF they do get her back I will let you know if they prove me wrong. My son has always been a good dad and did 99% of the parenting of the two girls I have. He got over whelmed with trying to care for a drug/mental wife and two babies. Now he has another unstable woman and baby. I still do not understand where his head is at.
Time will tell if DCF returns the baby and how long it lasts if they do.
I believe that even once they are clean, there are too many other personality disorders that keep them from being able to effectively parent.
What is going to happen to the next generation? The babies of the children we are raising? The missing generation is not going to be there to raise their grandchildren.
