Thoughts and prayers are with you and your gd.

You and your family are going through a tough time. LIfe at times seems so unfair. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and your granddaughter. (((HUGS))))

I hate the waiting for medical results. I wish there was a way to get them at the end of the test. Keep busy until then and plan something special for after the appointment.

I also dislike that 18 thing. Most of these kids are not ready to have guardianship end at some magical date.

I read somewhere that a young person's brain isn't really fully developed until they are around 25-27 years old so at 18 they are still babes in the woods. I remember at 18 I was not ready to being a fully functioning adult -- I still needed my mom and dad.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughtful comments. No residual tumor found and no metastisized tumor found! SO relieved! Her brain ventricles have gotten smaller since last year (a good thing) but her CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) is only draining from her brain anteriorally (front) and not posteriorally. The Oncologist said it could take years for her to heal since the tumor had gone on so long untreated. She gave us a list of things to watch for.

At this "Intense Clinic" we sit in a room and each specialist takes turns coming in to see GD. I love the Oncologist but she was accompanied by the hospital SW. The SW was the one that helped my daughter kick me out of the hospital when I tried to protect my GD. She refused to listen to me on the phone when I told her daughter was drunk and passed out in intensive care. So I then called several other people to help my GD including Neuro Assistant, charge nurse, hospital security, etc. They ALL told me the hospital SW was in charge of these issues.

So when she walked in yesterday I felt ill and tried to ignore her. But she immediately requested my permanent custody papers, asked how I ended up getting custody, etc. So I told her how neighbors heard my gd screaming and helped her escape and a friend called me. The Oncologist looked shocked. The SW began saying "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." over and over.

Then I just fell apart saying what my poor GD had gone through in the hospital and I wasn't even there to protect her. I started sobbing. Then I pulled myself together and told my GD I was sorry to bring that up. When the SW apologized again I said "Because you refused to listen to me, she suffered 2 more years of neglect and abuse."

Then I told them what the Judge told our gd; "that she was furious with all of the people who were paid to protect her, had failed her."

She gave me her card so I could send the permanent custody papers to directly to her saying "It's not that we don't believe you, we just need proof." Ugh. I now have the needed info to file a formal complaint against her.

As for the SW -- some of them are real pea brains. Ugh! Once again I am so sorry of what your granddaughter had to endure at the hands of CPS and thank goodness she is with you now.
