After 6 years I'm finally done with the bios that are conviently in and out of our kids life's. up until a year ago when we stopped being a taxi for bios, visits are sporadic. We've had maybe two visits from each in the last year. Now since about 2 weeks ago they're both calling at least everyother day wanting to arrange visits every week. I'm so sick of them, since they disappeared we made plans for almost every weekend this summer. So I called out attorney and asked if it would be "reasonable" of me to tell them that they can visit once a month. I don't think it's in the kids best interest to have these people in and out if Thier life's! Oh and now I have bio grandmother texting calling trying to control where we spend holidays an who we arrange play dates with. She's seen the kids twice in 6 years and now all of a sudden she wants to be involved and in her own words "will take them if she has too!" Really? As if dealing with bios wasn't enough now we have the threat of the bio grandmother. So exhausting. I just want to adopt. The kids have been with us since birth, they're 6 and 4 now. We are their everything. I think it's so unfair that the law gives these bios so much power and control. After the last visit this past weekend my stepdaughter texted me telling me that she needs to "talk" to me. Apparently she was upset that my husband her dad but our youngest on a time out. Really she wants to dictate that too. I think that the courts need to remove the sense if control from bio parents and give the kids a sense of security.
