When I heard that my son had been arrested and charged with a DUI, I called the police station and asked if arrests were public record and they said yes. I asked them what he had been charged with and they told me. That might be a place to start. Call the station and ask. When you go to court, this information should definitely be brought to the judge's attention. You never know, he may be locked up for an extended period of time depending on what he was arrested for and you may end up with a very strong case against him.

Oh, and P.S., is his lawyer a court appointed lawyer, or a lawyer who someone is paying? A lawyer will tell a client what they want to hear. A lawyer will gladly take money to "fight" for something in court, even when that lawyer knows his/her client doesn't stand a chance. My ex husband had several of them. 2 for a criminal case that both lawyers knew he had no chance of beating. Those 2 took $45,000 of his money and accomplished nothing more than postponing his sentencing and pissing the judge off to the point that she gave him the maximum sentence allowed. His divorce attorney tried really hard to make me look bad, but it didn't work either. His lawyer is blowing smoke.

Isn't it ironic that we we are thrilled when the bio's face jail, court or anything else that will prove their fitness as parents? Actually, it's sad but I have to admit I have been wanting the bio mom to get "caught", the bio Dad is in prison already.

the lawyer may be firm in getting your son's rights back but that does not mean he can get custody.

Hi...I called the CW and the babies lawyer leaving message that my son was picked up by police and was told he was held 1 night. Neither of them of course is too busy to email or call.

Is there a way to find out on my own what day and what charges he was in jail? The local jails have inmate locator but doesn't show any days other then the day of the search. I will go back to the site to see if there is something that will show that. I just want to have some Doc's of my own.

The City of Philadelphia has a free, online searchable website where you can find civil and criminal records. That's how I discovered Pinky's arrest history.

I did a quick search for CA and found this link. However, I don't know if it's official or for-pay:

Sorry, Liam, forget it. It's a for-pay site. And it also didn't pick up Pinky's records at all, so it isn't accurate.

There may be an official site for CA or your town - you can do some Googling with "searchable records, criminal, civil," those sorts of words...

Did you contact the jail and ask? I would also consider contacting the State's Attorney and explain your situation and your concerns. He/she might speak to you.

I looked at the detention center that they would have taken him however, it only show 5 days back. However, I know that he got picked up in the town next to me sooo, I did a search on the town crime report and sure enough it showed the address where he lives and said Needle/syringe?? but it didn't show his name it said blocked name. I did save it in PDF and it shows report # with address.

I spoke with the investigator who always calls before court date. She told me all that matters are that the bio's do what the judge says. She said that it would be a waste for me to get lawyer at this time because it is early in the process. GS was taken from bio's 6/1/10 she said wait for the 6 month mark that is when the judge will decide whether to take their rights away. Does this sound right?

I did contact a lawyer for us and he specialize in adoption/s they sent me an email with questions but I have been so busy with work, gs and going for epidurals and physical therapy. I need some rest and space to think and write out the answers because I have one shot to give him as much info as I can before we have a free 15 min consultation. I have been writing it out in a word doc so I can work on it when I have time but like I said I have been busy and exhausted.
