I haven't been on much lately. August 17 we took our 9-year-old granddaughter (not the grandchild we're raising) on a camping trip. We took our bicycles with us and I had a bike accident. Didn't seem too major - bruised one leg along the entire front and one small cut. It was tender to the touch but only hurt when it was touched or bumped.
Eventually all of the bruising went away except for one red, slightly swollen spot about the size of a tennis ball. A couple weeks ago, suddenly, it swelled up huge and was very painful. I thought it might be infected so I went to urgent care. Well, two weeks later, a total of 4 trips to Urgent Care and one to ER, it's back to almost the same as the first time I went in. Eventually the entire leg, ankle, and foot was swollen huge and all red, very painful.
I'm supposed to elevate it, so I prop it up on my CPU at work and come home to my recliner. I've been on two antibiotics but one is done today. Supposed to go back to my regular doctor Wed. so we'll see what she says. My opinion is that it's not close to healed and I think they should have given me antibiotics by IV to knock it out as they think it could be MRSA. At least I hope it's that and not an abcess.
The antibiotics are killing my stomach in spite of taking them with food and eating a couple containers of yogurt per day. I don't think I can take them much longer. I'm not used to just sitting around and it's killing me. Plus I feel so awful that I've only visited my dad with dementia once in the past week. I worry he'll think I've abandonded him and won't recognize me if I don't see him more often.

You have to always be on top of doctors these days -- I've been misdiagnosed three times. Fortunately they were minor things (sinus infection when the Dr. said allergy) -- but to me that's even worse! If they miss minor things, how can we count on them to get more serious problems?
What is cellulitis? The doc did mention something about it being a possibility but didn't elaborate once he found out that I'm high risk for MRSA.
I thought that your wound would be open to have that @ this point!!!
