I spent some time this weekend searching information on
Attachment Disorder. This describes the oldest right to the hygiene, which is my biggest battle.

Although gd has not been diagnosed with RAD, I found some very helpful (concrete) ideas to deal with emotional situations. Gd diagnosis is Adjustment Disorder. All so sad for our young children, but keep learning and loving them. Thank you grammy22.

Last evening instead of getting in a "discussion" over her refusal to brush her teeth I simply that said "You have two choices brush your teeth or do not brush your teeth and get a lot of cavities. Your choice. Good night." I walked away. She followed me and said " I do not want to brush and I do not want cavities." "Those two choices do not go together, not brushing will get you cavities." A few minutes later she is brushing.

Same discussion I have had in the past but this time I said it with disinterest in her teeth instead of in a tone of voice the indicated frustration and determination.

I really need to work on changing my attitude.
