This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. As many of you know, it's next to impossible to get enough private, quiet time to read a sentence in our favorite books, let alone a whole chapter.
I have an experiment I'm going to conduct this evening, and I'll report the results tomorrow.
Today while shopping I actually saw Limburger Cheese! Haven't seen that in the supermarket since I was a kid!!! My parents used to break it out after I went to bed, and I could smell it all the way upstairs. It is SO stinky (but tastes wonderful)!!! LOL
I'm going to leave it out for about an hour before reading time, then enjoy it with French bread or crackers and a glass of wine.
I'm betting the kids won't come anywhere near me for as long as the cheese lasts.

The kids took one whiff of the cheese and decided to watch a movie in the other room. I actually got TWO WHOLE HOURS of peace and quiet! Once they did walk into the family room, took one sniff and ran away.
I also breathed on them after I'd had a few slices -- that was the icing on the cake.
There is the secret for all grandmothers who'd like a bit of privacy. LOL!
I live in WI - We produce more cheese than any COUNTRY in the WORLD!!!! Limburger included!!! I should be able to get a few hours of freedom a week!!!! :)
