I just read the reports and it's amazing. Now I understand why they didn't test us when we were in urgent care. We exhibited so many of the symptoms they just dxd us without the expensive test.
I know the PA said "Go home and stay there until you get rid of the fever and start feeling better"
Sorry I get carried away when I hear things like that. In my family Three of them were tested for the H1N1 3 test postive. I heard today that the vacine came out today and there is a shortage already. Well once you have had it you don't get it agian. So we have 3 vacines that won't be used at my house. LOL
My doctor did a nasal swab that came back negative, but told me based on my symptoms, I had it (& I believe her!) She said she went to a conference on the sinus cavity swab tests and they told them the tests were 30 - 90% wrong on negative results. If the test came back positive, there was no question, but 30 - 90% of the negatives could be FALSE NEGATIVES. So, seems like a waste of time and effort to do the swabs to me. Not to mention, having a long swab stuck up your sinus cavity ain't too fun when you already feel like crap. A friend came down with H1N1 and went to her doctor the day after I went to mine. Her doctor said the CDC told them not to prescibe Tamiflu anymore because the virus was becoming resistant to it. So, who do you believe? The doctors are all getting different information, for crying out loud. All I know is, I feel sorry for her not getting it because I know it helped me.
