We're about to get hit with what could be the "Storm of the Century." Surrounded by trees and potential 80MPH winds and rain, rain, rain.

They've been saying for years that NJ is due for a direct hit, so I guess this is it. The red line goes right over our town.

What's crazy about this storm is that on the surface, it's just a Category 1 hurricane. Bad, but not devastating. However, it's merging with a cold front from the North that's pulling it back inland. PLUS, a full moon will add to the storm surge along the coast. Since it's several different storms combining into one monster, they're calling it the "Frankenstorm."

Well, we've done all the prep that can be done. Moving our mattresses to the basement so we're away from tree damage and can keep an eye on the French drain. It's gonna be loooong couple of days. :-(

They're even evacuating parts of Manhattan and Long Island!

We live on Lake Michigan near Chicago and they are forecasting 60mph winds on the lake tomorrow, causing a flood warning on the shore, all from the same storm system affecting you, though we are more than 700 miles inland from you! Be safe, update us when you can.

It's getting really, really scary -- now they're saying 90MPH winds. And if you know anything about Wildwood, NJ's beach, it's humongous. I think it could even be a quarter mile from the boardwalk to the water's edge. Well, the ocean is at the boardwalk! And the AC boardwalk is collapsing.

I think this storm could be everything they're predicting!!!! What's fooling people is that it isn't a hurricane, it isn't a nor'easter, it isn't a tropical storm -- it's ALL OF THAT rolled into one, PLUS a full moon.

All we have now is God's grace....

GMJan I wish we were getting snow! We wouldn't have to worry about overwhelmed sump pumps.

The winds are starting to pick up -- the worst should be here in about two hours and last 18 HOURS!!!!!

Thanks again for all your prayers. The kids are driving us out of our minds, too. Jeeeeze....
