This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. I havent been on here in a long time. So much has happened that I dont know where to start. Let me see if I can give a run down on it all:
First we did finally adopt Jason and Jose. They are all ours.
We are now raising 2 more grandsons beside them ,Dalton 5 and Damien 2.We go to court on October 1st for custody of Dalton.I'm not sure what we are going to end up doing about Damien.
Damien has been with us most of his life. He was born with severe birth defects. He had double club feet and his legs were also twisted almost backwards.His parents dont see him very often and when they do they are always in a hurry to leave because they "have things to do" They buy him 2 boxes of diapers a month and maybe a gallon of milk once in a while and they consider this "supporting him".Then they get mad when they do come here and he calls them by name and us "Mommy & Daddy"
Dalton's mother gave a friend of hers custody of him and his brother after we had helped her raise him for the first 2 years of his life.She just stopped answering our calls and moved where we didnt know what was going on with him. Then ON August 1st I get a FaceBook message from the friend telling me that if I didnt take him she was turning him over to the state.I said OK when do you want to give him to me She told me in 1 hour. I went to pick him up He was so nasty his hair was plastered to his head and his clothes was stiff. She gave him to me with only the clothes on his back and nothing more.She told him in front of me that she didnt want him any more and that he had to come live with me. When he asked her about his brother she told him she was keeping him that she loved him and wasnt letting him go.I was so stunned that a person could be so cruel that I couldnt think enough to get him away from her.Thankfully my daughter in law was there and rushed him off to her car. I went off and told her she was a very cruel person that should never be allowed around children.I told her I wanted full custody and she told me fine she didnt want him.
So as you can see I have had my hands full and still trying to work through it all with 4 special needs children.

Thank you Carly yes I do have my hands full.My house always looks like a hurricane has hit it but I am happy. Tired but Happy. I feel very lucky that GOD has chosen me to be blessed with these guys.
