Grandparents Raising Children Support Group
This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Join the support group to find support, share your experience, and get advice from other members.
Our youngest grandson is always watching these videos about how to make mug cake, scrambled eggs in a mug (it works) and other things.
So yesterday he made a Nutella cake with no flour (it was OK) and our eldest made brownies.
I did NOTHING! I just supervised, gave ideas (like breaking the eggs into a separate dish just in case) and they did all the work and clean-up.
So I told the eldest (she's 14) that this summer she's learning how to saut and make reduction sauces.
I think I may be able to give up cooking soon! THAT will be fun! YAY!!!!!
The birthday girl is 10 today and she made her Daddy's cake all by herself, even did the oven by herself with me standing near by biting my nails.
They both are going to overnight camp for a week. Check out Salvation army - $50 for a week of overnight camp. Then they will go to a half days of an engineering camp where they will build moving things out of leggos. This is only a mile up the road. We will also take a family trip to ME for nights so they can play in the ocean. If I can get more time off we might head to Martha's Vineyard to visit family who live there.
I will work and Grampa will have to deal with the girls. They have passes for the town pool so he can take them there a few times a week. They can also swim in the small pond behind the house but what fun is that if you do not have friends over?
