Strange time this year. Good times and hard times combined.
Today, my family celebrated my Grandmother's 101'st birthday. Pretty cool. Mentally, she's completely there. Maybe a little forgetful, but not really that bad. She even teased me a few weeks ago - I got a text and she asked me if it was from a "girlfriend on the side"......then she said "are you blushing?"
On the other side of things, my sister is in the final stages of cancer. She's in home hospice care and sleeps most of the time. She's only 54, a very healthy eater, and a vibrant, caring person. It's very hard to see her in this condition.......not sure what else to say. In the natural medical sense, things are winding down. In the Spiritual, we continue to pray for healing or a miracle. But God has bigger plans and we don't always have the full picture.
So I'm happy for my Grandmother and I'm saddened by my sister's condition. When I went down to visit her, she recognized me at times, but other times she didn't seem to recognize all of us. Then she apologized for not being "any fun". What do you say to that? She really didn't have a lot of negative words to say about herself, other than "tough road", and " I just want to feel well". Who wouldn't?
I'm rambling at this point. Just thought I'd keep all of you up to date. But right now, I'm happy for my grandmother and sad about my sister. Hence, the name of this post.

Sorry LLB. Life is so strange. Are we granted life for so long or taken too early? Gotta appreciate everyday I guess.

Sorry to hear about your sister.

She passed away this morning, and has gone home to be with the Lord. She was a wonderful sister and mother to her two children, and she'll be greatly missed.
