The older we get the longer it takes us to recover unfortunately.
So I have to remind myself to take those rest days.
I do agree that constant use of pain relievers is not good for you. Although for the short-term, there's something to be said for reducing inflammation.
I have always heard that potassium ( like a banana ) is good for removing lactic acid. Any other success stories with this?
because of my chronic pain I do take pain relievers every day. Every single day. I try to keep it to 1-2 aleve but on occasion will take Percocet. Unfortunately as y'all know working out makes my pain a lot worse. I managed to walk 30 minutes on the treadmill just now and it was miserable and I hurt like hell the whole time. It's a lovely feeling having those facet joints rubbing against each other...forget about the DDD .
I've tried my recumbent bike but when I do that I get femoral nerve pain that shoots from my groin down my inner thigh with every rotation on my left side.
I'm 56 and feel like I'm 76 half the time. This sucks!! I refuse though to be inactive. Pain or no pain.
sorry.. rant over.
P.S. LLB2, I know your post was directly related to taking supplements/pain relievers in conjunction with working out, so my answer is kind of off the mark. sorry. :((
Hugs~
