I would like to introduce my friend Jean. She has had many strange experiences in he life starting from early child hood until the present. She has agreed to allow me to post some of her experiences and she welcomes questions and discussion. Please read her stories and feel free to offer discussion.
Dear Friends,
I'm a senior citizen who has lived in extraordinary times. Born a few years after the end of WWII, I am a bonafide "baby boomer." I have lived through the Cold War, the Cuban missile crisis, a presidential assassination, the walling of Berlin and the subsequent tearing down of that wall, and all else that has occurred during and since. Due to my family's circumstances, I had some very personal associations to many of those events. In addition, I have had a lifetime of paranormal experiences which I have spent a considerable amount of time and resources researching. I am always looking for answers.
Anyone who has had paranormal experiences and researches what happened to them reaches a point where they know their own truth. I am no different. The experiences I had and still have are real. They aren't a figment of my imagination or the product of a psychosis. I didn't seek to have them or engage in any type of conjuring magic to manifest incidents. In many cases, I have witnesses that something unusual occurred. I'm willing to share those experiences hoping that I can make a positive contribution to the discussions that take place on this site.
Am I psychic? I'm not sure. What I know is I was born the way I am. For me, the paranormal is normal. I don't know any other way of being. I begin by relating a curious memory that followed me through most of my life.
I grew up in southwestern Pa. For my first five years, my family lived in a tiny white home on a winding rural road. One Sunday as we were getting dressed for a special event, I walked into my parents bedroom. There on the bed was my dad's hat...a grey fedora with an orange feather. I ran over to it and picked it up. I ran my fingers over the crown and marveled at its texture. When my mother came into the room, I asked her where the hat had come from? Wasn't this the hat my dad had left in the closet in Canada? How did he get it back?
My mother looked startled at my questions. Then she said yes it was, but the manager had found it and sent it back. She asked how I knew about that and I quickly replied that I'd seen him forget it. I tried to tell them he was leaving it behind, but no one would listen to me. She curtly informed me that wasn't possible, because I was never there. I argued that I was and began to describe the place, the room, and circumstances that occurred. She became angry with me and said again that I wasn't born yet when she and my dad were in Canada. She said I'd never been to Canada!
I was certain she was wrong and on several occasions, I tried to prove to her that I'd been with them by describing various things that had happened on the trip. Each time, she grew angrier with me until one time she brought me to tears. After that, I didn't mention it again until much later. But I searched my memory and brought back every detail that I could recall. I was convinced I was with them some way, some how.
A lifetime later, I finally brought up my memory to my mother. I told her not to say a word until I'd finished. I described every detail that I had remembered and asked her again where and when did all this happen? After a long pause, she began to speak. She said I was describing her honeymoon in great detail. Then she have me a piece to the puzzle that blew me away!
She explained that she and my dad were married in June, but my dad couldn't get time off from work for their honeymoon until Labor Day weekend, They went to Canada so she could see the autumn leaves. By that time, she was a few months pregnant with me! Is this possible? How could I have seen what I saw? It took me several years after receiving that information to get some answers.
One possibility is I absorbed my dad's memory from the hat. I did consider that, but the memory was really too vivid! I could recall how I felt! Then I met a shaman and described everything to him. He explained the theory that the soul of the unborn child hovers around the mother until it decides to go into the infant after it is born! This is, of course, only one theory, but it's one that seems to explain my experience. Was this my soul's memory? I can't say for sure! I'm intrigued by the concept, but I remain "on the fence" as to its validity. Of all the explanations that I have found, this one seems to resonate in me the most.
I welcome your commentary. I look forward to sharing more of my many experiences and what I have learned from the research I have done pertaining to them. I am also eager to have others share their experiences with me. Even though much of my life is behind me, I feel it is never too late to learn!
Your friend,
Jean
