GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
I'm using Phenergran suppositories for the nausea. I take steroids to stop the shakiness and lightheaded feeling, but I take steroids daily to stay alive for Addison's.
I hope that someone has more answers than me for you. Good luck.
It may have something to do with inflammation in the stomach and esophagus and nerve endings.
It is all about diet and many people have anxiety which can cause the reflux/gastritis symptoms as well.
Try changing your diet in a big way.
Lesleygm, thanks for this information. The GI and physician did not tell be about the symptoms of gastritis. I will discuss this with them soon. What way of eating helped rid you of these symptoms?
Have had GERD for years but diet mostly keeps it under control. A couple weeks ago I started getting sick with a sore throat, raspy voice and cough. Off and on over these two weeks, I had days where I felt fine and thought all was good again, but then the next day I would feel like absolute shit.
Allergies, sinus problems, a virus - all of these things can trigger our GERD into overdrive. Sometimes you may not even be sure if your sick OR if it's reflux.
A VERY strict food journal is how I cope. I document everything I eat, the time and if I got any symptoms. Just know that sometimes what we ate last week and did fine....may not do fine this week.
I'm sorry you are going through this as well. And yes it can put your whole life on hold. =(
I was diagnosed with gastritis and hiatal hernia. Trying to figure out what is causing which symptoms is exhausting. I've been dealing with reflux lately which I think is triggered by the hiatal hernia.
I've noticed that after eating I feel dizzy, shakiness, and nauseated. Many times these symptoms are relieved just by me standing up.
