GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
I also take the Zantac. When it's really bad or what I can an episode, I drink tons of chamomile tea and Benadryl. Many people don't realize that Benadryl is also an H2 blocker like our PPI's.
For some reason the tea and antihistamine seems to help the most, but it also makes you drowsy so you can't do much, but at least you feel better.
I also take 3 caps of extra strength Maalox for quick relief.
