GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
I have had stabbing pains, mostly after being on PPIs for the first few days. Also, my upper middle back will start to tingle and then feel like something is on it. I've heard that's acid reflux.
Must be the gerd.
I ask the doc if it could be from gerd and he just shrugged his shoulder.
After the last endoscopy the specialist told me that my LES stands open all the time and does not close and he didn't know why. No wonder I have problems.
I do understand you being anxious.
Hope you get to feeling better.

I am having a hard time accepting this diagnosis as I've never had anything so painful and so doggone annoying! It seems to affect everything from my voice to eating to gardening and exercising.
Of all the things!
When I was first dx with gerd my pains felt like a heart attack, but these pains are different- about an inch under breast and sometimes hits my back like a quick stab or squeeze.
Everyone feel better!
