GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
i had gastritis when i was pregnant, i ate 4 or bottle of tums during the pregnacy,
still flares up now and again,
tummy will be tender to touch in certain areas and u find out really fast what you can and cannot eat,
tomatoes, lettuce, onions, spicy stuff, etc., and when it settles down? you can eat those things in small amounts, when it flares up you remember to stay away,
it is not that bad, better to have gastritis than an ulcer, an acutal ulcer, and then a bleeding ulcer,
nexium i have just been told rasies havoc with the tummy, and i have been told that losec should replace it,
but i dont have coverage for losec.
i drank a lot of milk, had ice cream, things that coated my tummy when the gastritis flared up,
the ice cream was always my favorite, :)
right now rollaids are my best friend, :) i eat about 12 and i'm ok for the night, (but i also take pain meds re: rib pain)
i hope you find something that is totally right for you and you can adjust your diet ok, so that you feel better soon,
huggz:)
