GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
FYI
Yes after a lot of research, I believe I have FD, gastroparesis, whatever. I actually live in Canada and tried Motilium which did not work for me.I am about to try a PPI I think, as I do get acid as well, especially at night. One big problem I have (2 actually)is, I am quite afraid of medication, largely because I have very low tolerance for side effects.Even pepcid AC gives me headaches, palpitations and a generally unpleasant feeling, though it works pretty well for the acid. I have a box of OTC Prilosec (20mg) and 1 of Nexium (40mg)sitting here and I am afraid to try rhem. I have read that Nexium can have very bad side effects for many people.Needless to say, I am extremly depressed and living on blended and liquid food.
I know how depressing the blended diet is, I have been there in the past. I'm sorry that you're going through this, I hope it gets better soon.
