GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
I just found out from my natural path you need to add acid in to make your stomach muscle close. What the doctors tell people is counterproductive.
Try a natural HCL (hyrdocloric acid). I was told you need aleast 1500 mgs a day. This will help your symptoms.
Along with a good probiotic and digestive enzyme.
Also go to a chiropractor and they can adjust the hiatel hernia and lower it with maneuvers they do.
Yes natural care is more expensive but they help you and actually treat your symptoms rather than masking with another med.
Best to you!
The apple cider vinegar was a life saver for me! I would be on a PPI if it was up to the gastro. I said screw it. I am not trying to work against my body but WITH IT. Most of us need MORE acid to balance it out. Some docs lie and say 'well you have too much acid'. Most of the time that is not the case.
I have also heard from half the people I have talked to on these sites that apples are really bad, yet they are on every safe food list I have been able to locate on the internet. I honestly don't know what to believe anymore...it is so very frustrating!
