GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
Yes! I have had GERD since my mid 20's and I am now
60. I have had approximately 4 endoscopys in the later part of the condition, and they all turned out normal.
I am having some problems right now and waiting to see my Digestive Disease doctor. I fear I have overdone ibuprofen usage ( I had a fall), and now my flare ups are coming and going. Mostly staying though..
I am on omeprazole in the am and ranitidine in the evening. My ENT Dr tells me that you can build up a tolerance to ranitidine, so I am in a pickle yet again.
