GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
I am guessing that perhaps you have to take a baby aspirin to keep your blood thin for Cardiac prophylaxis?
I would say that if your Gastritis and Gerd is *totally* under control from the P.P.I. class of drugs then you might be able to get away with one baby aspirin per day but I would *never* take it on an empty stomach and ONLY with meals - half way through a meal is the very best rather than at the beginning or end of a meal. (And protein meals are the best - a fruit and veg only meal does not count.)
But that ONLY applies if through to P.P.I meds you have blocked off the hyper acid arousal symptoms in your stomach. If that is not the case, stay far away from Aspirin or things such as Aleve etc.
If you are looking at keeping your blood thin for Cardiac benefit, visit a really good, reputable health store and discuss it with them. There are numerous herbal subjects which can bring blood down to the same level of viscosity levels as aspirin does but without it ramping up your hyper acidity levels. Hope this can be helpful for you.... xoxoxo
