GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
Nausea in the morning is a typical gastritis symptom. it is not a heartburn symptom. I am not sure what to do for the nausea in the morning. The gastritis site can help with that I bet but heartburn while sleeping can be treated with a couple of gaviscon chewable tablets. It works quite well and no aluminum in them in Canada. You can also prop yourself up at night. That works the best.
I take my zantac later in the day, like before dinner instead of in the morning. I try to not eat after dinner and not eat too much volume for dinner. I drink a glass of room temperature water at bedtime, which really helps me as long as I don't snack after dinner.
Hope you feel better soon!
