Gay Men's Challenges Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.
Some people just don't get it. Love transcends race, gender, and other boundaries. Some will learn over time while others won't. When they give you the look, give them a look back that says, "kindly fuck off." Perhaps you may. even need to express this verbally from time to time.
2 things: first, why be affected and upset by others when you did not offend them? second, maybe they r looking coz they were just curious or surprised; i do find some gays tend to over-react because of their own insecurity or self-consciousness.
Many people who hold such opinions simply have never been exposed to anyone homosexual. Now is your chance to show them something about YOU as a person. Being a part of the larger community is something we all can take part in. It's an opportunity for you to be an ambassador.
I agree with MrSaner about the over-reactions... I've been part of a "dining out" group in the past and certain members made a scene at even a whiff of a slight. They were covering their own insecurity.
Being in the Food and Beverage biz... Servers and wait staff have to deal with a HUGE diversity of people and preferences. Making everyone feel all warm and fuzzy can be challenging. I have just one rule when I go out with people or a group. Just don't be an ass. Be assertive if you need to get what you pay for... but please be gentlemen.
