Gay Men's Challenges Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.

What "common bond" are you talking about?
"not to kill each other" What are you trying to say there?
Please forgive us for not understanding, could you please elaborate?

see down the page some to where it says Controversy
I feel like all this controversy has been thrown at me & I've had so many beautiful young guys in dates and sometimes intimate or soulsearching conversations with, but never a boyfriend.
I was part of the LGBT community from an early age. I did not get along with them at all. I was slandered by Pflag, for being goth and wiccan. That was so incredibly uncalled for. One of various things has happened, for no good reason and it hasn't stopped me from going back to LGBT centers and letting go of such things enough to be respectful, but the bigger picture of not even having gay friends anymore is heartbreaking. I've been dealing with suicidal thoughts on and off a lot since I had my first real healthy sexual relationship and now after many years of abstaining I dared to try something new and go out there- just to be played and given hpv (when I've been trying to people about over the past five years since I first started hearing about it a lot).
i can see why Wikipedia has the "Controversy" paragraphs tagged as "unbalanced towards certain viewpoints". it's a matter of opinion. ex. i do not take offense to being a sexual minority because, from an objective perspective, that's what it is. if 10% of the population identify as LGBTQ, 10% is a minority number compared to 90%. a simple fact, not intended to marginalize.
sorry to hear about the hpv. some guys can be so cold and narcissistic. i have to admit, dating can get discouraging sometimes.
If it's any consolation to you, I too had a not-so-great experience with PFLAG. I don't have anything against them, but some people seem too "focused" on what they are set to do...
Also, the one thing that i learned long ago (and the hard way if I may add) is that not every single LGBT person, or institution is appreciative or welcoming of everyone. Sadly, some people and organizations act as ignorant as homophobic people. Trust me, my hubby and I are an interracial couple.
I also learned that even when one does the right thing, the right way, there's no guarantee that you will be (a) thanked for it, (b) rewarded, (c) appreciated or (d) reason for others do the right thing too.
I work for an HIV/AIDS organization, and I see so many people who test positive for HIV after trusting irresponsible people. That things don't always turn out OK is not your fault, so you shouldn't take it on you.
In addition, you should know that believe it or not 80% of Americans are infected with the HPV virus. My guess is that close to 100% of sexually active gay men are.
