I need to get my groove back. A little history first.
I haven't had sex for almost ten years (NSA's and hook ups have lost their appeal).I haven't had a date for thirteen. I'd been burned so many times that my trust level is below zero.
I'm just a regular guy that has a lot of love to give yet I end up getting used (mostly money). This problem passes to making friends (which I have none). I just can't trust people and I need to get past this.
Everyone says "get involved,volunteer" however most in my area (Atlanta) are religion based (that's a whole different story- not good) or tied with organizations that are associated discrimination in one form or another. Join a sport? I'm not athletic. Join a club? My work hours limit my activity.
I just don't know what to do. I go through my day, work and go home. And yes, I've gone through the therapy (the most my insurance would pay) and I'm still here. I've done the drugs- most made me feel worse and didn't change anything.
I know most of this is about trusting people. If I had friends- real friends- things would be different.
I can count on one hand how many people have touched me in any way in the last year and one is my doctor. I hunger for touch. Just a hug once and a while.
My real question is how do I get past this? I just can't see going through the next 45+ years (people in my family live long) alone.
Any advice would be most welcome.

I even attempted to volunteer at the LGBT center. i bring an expensive skillset. couldn't even fill out the paperwork without the director molesting me right there in the chair. they never called. apparently, they don't need legitimate volunteers, just new toys.
Exception, I've had many, many people touching me just in the past 6 months. They were all doctors and nurses, LOL.
Having my physical therapist working my piriformis muscle out of spasm is the closest i'm gonna get to sex (it's located in the buttocks region).
There are a lot of people in our situation. But, apparently, we're the minority within a minority. I thought DS would be different; I don't know.
So, my advice? none yet. but I know I'm not going to find anyone sitting in my living room online every night. i'm considering building a website for us. - mainstream gay dudes, looking for a more traditional, mainstream approach to friends and dating.
